AAATU member Mark Delaney of Whitmore Lake shows off a carp he caught in Grand Traverse Bay. We were using 8-weight outfits with floating lines and crayfish flies. We waded out into the bay and were casting to a pod of feeding carp. When I hooked up to this fish, he took off like a freight train and I was into my backing in just seconds. He stripped over 150 yards of backing and the fight lasted about 20 minutes. It was really a kick. Estimated at around 30lbs.
